#WOW2022 | Week 47 | Can you label and sort small multiples?

Introduction

Small multiples can be a good way to see overall trends across several categories, but sometimes it can be tricky to get the sorting and labels right, so that’s what we’ll practice this week!

Since baseball season is over now, we’ll look at overall win percentage from 1998 to 2022 for Major League Baseball teams.

Requirements

  • Dashboard Size: 1000 x 800px
  • 1 sheet
  • Create a small multiple/trellis chart showing win percentage (Wins/Games) difference from .5 (better or worse than 50% win percentage) by Year for each Team
    • The bars should be a different color above and below the 50% line (
    • Add a Team label in the top left, and the team’s overall win percentage for all years in the top right
    • Teams should be ordered by overall win percentage
  • Match tooltips and formatting

Bonus:

  • Apply the following color palette with teams sorted alphabetically to get each team’s colors  (HINT: Make sure you have your above/below color also applied before applying the palette)
  • <color-palette name="MLB Team Colors" type="regular">
