Introduction
Think a bran muffin is a healthier choice than a breakfast sandwich? Think again.
This week’s challenge throws Starbucks and McDonald’s into the ring — matching menu items with the same calorie count but wildly different nutritional makeups. Spoiler: one of them is a lentil bowl, the other is a McFlurry.
You’ll build a chart that teases out the truth behind the numbers, then use a Sigma modal to drop the full nutrition mic — fat, protein, fiber, and all.
It’s all about using Sigma’s workbook-level modals to turn a chart into a conversation and surprise your audience without overwhelming them.

Note: You will only have view access to WOW Workbooks, Folders, and Workspaces, not edit access. Please create your WOW Workbooks under “My Documents.” We suggest creating a folder to organize all your workbooks.
Requirements
Use the ‘Food Calories Data Model’ in the Week 22 Folder
Main Viz:
- Bar chart that displays each matched pair of items based on calories
- Encourages user interaction by prompting them to click to explore more
Modal:
- Create a modal that activates when the user clicks a chart
- HINT: Use Sigma’s ‘Actions’ to filter the chart and then open the Modal
- Display a side-by-side nutrient breakdown of the Starbucks and McDonald’s items
- Include:
- Brand logos or icons
- Fat, Protein, and Fiber values
- Visual bars or custom color formatting
- Create another Action for Model to re-set the main chart filter
