2024 Week 40 | Power BI: #FabConEurope Edition – Contest Deadline Extended!

Introduction

Welcome back to Workout Wednesday. This week we’re extending the #FabConEurope edition of Workout Wednesday.

We’re hosting a contest and three winners will receive a 30-minute one-on-one mentoring session with one of the three Workout Wednesday hosts.

For more information on how to enter, see contest details below.

Requirements

  Get and transform data

  1. Get Eurovision data from GitHub. Feel free to use one or all of the files, and if you’re feeling really excited, you can incorporate the audio files!
  2. Transform your data
    • Do any transformations and clean up that you need! Judges will not look at the data model – do with that information what you will.
  3. Add visuals to the canvas. Be sure add at least:
    • main takeaways from the data
    • one core visual (the visuals that come in Power BI)
    • one custom visual of any kind
    • any custom navigation you’d like to build
    • engaging design
    • ensure that all visuals meet the minimum standards of having alt text, that the tab order in your report makes sense, and that your color choices meet the minimum contrast standards.
  4. Add any other design elements that you’d like!

Dataset

This week’s #FabConEurope challenge uses Eurovision data that can be found on Github.
