2025 Week 15 | Power BI: The 2025 DataViz World Champion has been crowned!

Introduction

Welcome back to Workout Wednesday!

Last week, 6,000 of our closest friends met up in Las Vegas for the 2nd annual Fabric Community Conference. The Workout Wednesday team had a strong showing!

We hosted a pre-conference meetup with a hundred of our friends, where we completed a Workout Wednesday exercise live! Thanks to everyone who attended!

We also participated in the first ever Power BI DataViz World Championships, a global competition that had incredible participation and over 500 entries! Over the course of four weeks, we identified four talented finalists to take the stage in Las Vegas to compete for the title of World Champion. Meagan and Kerry served as judges and helped crown the World Champion, Jon Sandmann, who took the win with his Global Health and Safety Monitor!

This week, we challenge you to create a report using the same data that our four finalists worked with live at FabCon!

Tip: Click the Fit to page icon in the bottom-right corner of the report frame for the best experience!

Requirements

  1. Get data from the OECD Wellbeing Database
    • You can either use the API to connect or download the data.
  2. Create at least 3 visuals. These can be either core or custom visuals.
  3. Give your report a meaningful title.
  4. Ensure that all visuals meet the minimum standards of having alt text, that the tab order in your report makes sense, and that your color choices meet the minimum contrast standards.

Dataset

Data for this challenge can be found in the OECD Data Explorer. Be sure to check out the very helpful Definitions and Metadata sheet for more information on what you’re looking at!
