Introduction
Welcome back to Workout Wednesday! This week we’re building a special three-way dumbbell chart!
You may ask, if this is a fixed term?
No – I just think that sometimes there are three values that need to be displayed.
This is how it will look like – you can easily see that chocolate prices are way up since 2015, especially in Hungary and Lithuania.
Want to learn, how to creat a chart like this?
Let’s do it!
Requirements
- Download the sample data from the Data World Website.
- Create a clustered bar chart with the three price indices on the x axis and country on the y axis.
- Make all bars overlap and transparent.
- Create markers via error bars.
- Add data labels for the 2015 and 2025 series.
- Create an informative tooltip.
Dataset
This week’s data is once again about the consumer price index for chocolate in different European countries since 2015 (Source: ECB Data Portal). The sample data can be found on the data.world website here. Note: Data.World requires you to create a free account to access the data, please sign in to see and download it.
