Pivot – Rows and Columns Total

Introduction

Hello and welcome to Week 34! Let’s get the fun started this week with Rows and Columns Total in the Pivot Table! Yes, you heard that right, we want to sum the rows and columns and yet have all the data show.

Requirements

  • Create a dev org or use an existing org you have access to
  • Connect to the Energy dataset that has been used in some other WoW challenges (dataset link below).
  • Create a dashboard.
  • Create a pivot table with country as the rows and year as the columns. Select one or more columns for the measure.
  • Calculate
    • the sum of years for the columns total
    • the sum of countries for the rows total
    • Join the original data with the columns and rows total.

The resulting dataset should look something like this:

You may use SAQL.

Dataset

This challenge uses an Energy dataset from “Our World in Data“. The curated data for the challenge is available here.
