Introduction
This week we’re challenging you to recreate a single visual element from one of the winning reports from the #PBI10 dataviz championship. The contest took place over the past month and there were four winners, so, you have four reports to choose from!
The entries in this challenge represent a wide range of visual styles, analysis, and storytelling using Power BI. Your task: recreate a single visual from any of the four winning entries. Focus on layout, styling, and functionality. How close can you get? This challenge is a great way to sharpen your skills and learn from the best of the best!
Requirements
To complete this challenge, your submission must meet the following:
Select one visual from any of the four winning reports of the Power BI 10th Birthday Dataviz Contest:
Recreate the selected visual as closely as possible in Power BI. Pay attention to:
Layout and alignment
Color palette and formatting
Labeling and interactivity (if applicable)
- Accessibility – particularly color contrast, alternative text, and tab order (if you recreate more than one visual)
Use our pre-built semantic model or fabricate your own data, as long as the structure supports a similar visual output.
Your visual can be built using either native Power BI visuals or custom visuals. If you use a custom visual, be sure to let us know which one!
Include at least one DAX measure to support your recreated visual.
Dataset
