Introduction
Welcome back to Workout Wednesday and welcome to 2025! This year marks Workout Wednesday‘s 9th year as a community initiative, and the Power BI team is entering our 5th year! In 2025, we plan to both continue and expand our efforts, which we can’t do without you, dear reader!
How to get involved
Volunteer as a contributor
Would you like to help us create weekly data visualization challenges in Power BI? We welcome participation as either a regular or one-off commitment. All it requires is a bit of creativity and a few hours per week.
What’s required of you?
- blog post write-up of the challenge that includes detailed requirements based on an open dataset
- solution file shared in the Fabric Community Data Stories Gallery
- blog or video detailing how to complete the challenge
Regular contributors also meet on a monthly basis.
How do you apply?
Participate in our challenges
If you love dataviz and want to join us, you’re always welcome to participate in our challenges! Here are a few ideas for how to make the most of your participation:
- Build a dataviz portfolio using our challenges
- Work through the challenges with a group at work or a user group
- Set a personal goal to get through a certain number of challenges throughout the year
- Are you hiring? Assign a challenge to a potential hire and evaluate their work!
- Challenge yourself! Try to recreate the solution without looking at the solution file!
Join us over on the Fabric Community
Do you want to keep the conversation going about what you’ve done in the Workout Wednesday challenges? You can post your solution in the Data Stories Gallery in the Fabric Community, where others can like and comment on your work!
All it takes to join the community is a quick registration process where you provide your name and email address.
Thank you!
Thanks so much for 4 years of fun, learning, and sharing! Cheers to year 5! 🥳
