## Introduction

While reviewing recent work I’ve done in preparation for this week’s challenge, I came across a tile map with individual area charts by state that we use to monitor subscriptions, and thought it would be a fun one. As I dug into it, I realized it was inspired by Luke’s challenge in 2020 Week 32. But it’s been a minute since then, and I actually used LODs where Luke used Table Calculations, so we’re going to revisit (or perhaps try for the first time) area chart tile maps this week.

## Requirements

- Dashboard size: 1300 x 800
- Create a standardized area chart showing population by year (you’ll need to multiply the population value by 1000) relative to the min/max of each state.
- Show the state and most recent population in the label
- Create a bar chart showing the most recent population by state. When hovering over a bar, it should highlight the state in the tile map
- Match tooltips

## Dataset

This week’s data is population by state by year from the FRED (Federal Reserve Economic Data). I’ve done some cleanup and pivoting, so you can find the file here. Don’t forget to reference the FRED site on your viz.
