Introduction
Since I watched the solar eclipse from Texas this week, we have a solar theme. We are visualizing the sunrise time each day in 2024 to date. I’m keeping it simple with the line chart core visual, but you can use whatever visual you would like.
Requirements
1. Retrieve the data from Data.World.
2. Create a line chart with shading under it. The line chart should visualize the time of the sunrise for each day in the data. Note: you can’t use a time data type on the y-axis of a line chart core visual, so you might need to create a different column to represent the time. I made a percent of day elapsed column to handle this.
3. Enable markers and use something other than a circle.
4. Label the sunrise time for some (not all) values in the chart.
5. Make sure the tooltip shows the date and sunrise time when you hover over a marker.
6. Add reference lines for the Daylight Savings time change on March 10 and the solar eclipse on April 8.
7. Use a background image, but make sure you chart is still readable (has good contrast and stands out) on top of the background.

There is a single table in the dataset. .
The data was gathered from https://www.timeanddate.com/sun/usa/dallas. It was further compiled and manipulated for this exercise.
Note: Data.World requires you to create a free account to access the data. You may use the Data.World connector in Power BI or download the file to your local machine and connect to it there.
