2024 Week 13 | Power BI: Overlapping Histogram

In this week’s challenge we are creating an Overlay Histogram. An overlay histogram utilises overlapping columns or bars to compare two populations. In this case, we are utilising the speed dating data from a previous challenge to compare male and female differences in dating preferences.

  1. Obtain the data from the Workout Wednesday 2022 Week 36 Challenge
  2. Create bin the “What do you look for in the opposite sex” values
  3. Create a clustered column chart with gender as the legend and “What do you look for in the opposite sex” attributes as small multiples
  4. Format the columns so that they overlap and set borders and transparency for visibility of the population profiles

Obtain the sample data from the previous Workout Wednesday Challenge “Split Violin Plot and HTML” via the Data Stories Gallery Workout Wednesday 2022 Week 36 – Microsoft Fabric Community

After you finish your workout, share on Twitter using the hashtags #WOW2024 and #PowerBI, and tag @MMarie, @shan_gsd, @KerryKolosko. Also make sure to fill out the Submission Tracker so that we can count you as a participant this week in order to track our participation throughout the year.
